At BYOB Sports (Bring Your Own Balls), your privacy and safety are our top priorities. We’ve

built our community around trust, respect, and real-life connection - both on and off the court.

This policy explains how we protect your information, promote user safety, and maintain a

positive community experience.

1. Our Commitment to Safety

We work hard to keep BYOB Sports a welcoming, respectful, and safe space. Our safety

program includes:

• Human moderation and AI monitoring to detect and review inappropriate or unsafe

behavior.

• User reporting tools to block or report inappropriate users directly through the app.

• Incident review procedures: reports are reviewed by our team, and accounts may be

suspended or removed for violations.

• Reminders about safe in-person interactions and responsible app use.

BYOB Sports cooperates with law enforcement in cases involving safety or illegal activity.

2. Code of Conduct

We expect all users to uphold respect, inclusivity, and sportsmanship.

• Zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, discrimination, or hate speech based on race,

gender, sexuality, religion, or nationality.

• Honesty in representation: Users must accurately represent their identity and skill level.

• Appropriate use: The app is intended solely for arranging sports matches and related

activities; solicitation for other purposes is prohibited.

• Consequences: Violation of these rules may result in temporary suspension or permanent

account removal.

3. Personal Safety Guidelines

• Meet in public places such as well-lit courts or clubs.

• Carry ID and a charged phone for emergencies.

• Avoid sharing rides with new contacts until trust is built.

• Check weather and court conditions before outdoor play.

• Trust your instincts: leave immediately if you feel unsafe.

In-person matches arranged through the app are conducted at your own risk. BYOB Sports does

not provide accident, medical, or liability insurance. Users are encouraged to maintain their own

coverage.

 

4. Data We Collect

We collect only the data needed to deliver and improve the app:

• Profile Information (name, email, phone number, profile photo(s), skill level, home

court).

• App Activity Data (match joined, messages sent, feedback submitted and in-app

interactions).

• Device & Usage Data (technical logs, crash reports, and analytics).

• Location Data (when you allow location access, we collect approximate or precise

location to suggest nearby matches and events).

• Media Content (photos or videos you upload to your profile, matches, or events, as well

as event photos captured by BYOB staff or authorized photographers).

We never share live location data unless you choose to.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• Operate and maintain the BYOB Sports app and community.

• Authenticate users, enable features, and provide customer support.

• Analyze usage trends to improve performance and add new features.

• Communicate with you about updates, safety, or app-related news.

• Display your uploaded photos and videos in the app (for example, on your player profile,

match cards, or event pages).

• Provide personalized experiences (e.g., showing recommended matches or players based

on your profile and preferences).

• Use media from events to highlight community activities and growth.

We do not sell or rent personal data. Only aggregated, anonymized data is used for analytics and

performance insights.

6. Media Usage & Release

By uploading media to BYOB Sports or participating in BYOB-hosted events, you grant BYOB

Sports LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, and display those

photos or videos:

• Within the app (for player profiles, match galleries, or community feeds); by uploading

media, you confirm that you own the rights to that content and consent to its use as

described; and

• On official BYOB Sports channels such as our website, newsletters, or social media for

promotional purposes.Event photos may occasionally be featured in promotional materials, newsletters, or app-store

previews.

You may opt out of marketing use at any time by emailing support@byobsports.com and

requesting that specific images or videos be removed.

We will not sell your personal photos or videos to third parties.

7. Third-Party Services

To ensure reliable and secure app performance, BYOB Sports partners with trusted third-party

service providers that support functions such as authentication, analytics, crash reporting, user

data management, deployment, engagement tracking, and messaging. Each partner operates

under strict privacy and security standards to protect user information.

8. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

• Access, update, or delete your account information at any time within the app.

• Revoke location permissions via your device settings.

• Request removal of media used for marketing or community display by emailing

support@byobsports.com.

To exercise your rights, contact support@byobsports.com. We will respond promptly and delete

data from backups upon confirmed deletion requests.

9. Security Practices

Your information is protected through:

• Strict database policies that prevent users from accessing or viewing others’ private

details, messages, and or personal data.

• Access controls and limited staff access to limit internal data visibility.

• Ongoing system monitoring and security audits to detect and address potential

vulnerabilities.

In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by

law.

10. Children’s Privacy

BYOB Sports is intended for users 17 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal

information from minors. If we discover that a minor has registered, we will promptly delete the

account and all related data.

 

11. Emergency Protocols

If you witness or experience illegal activity or immediate danger, contact local law enforcement

first and then report the incident in-app. Our team will review and cooperate with authorities as

needed.

12. Data Retention

We retain user data only as long as necessary to operate and maintain community safety:

• Up to 3 months after voluntary account closure.

• Up to 2 years after an account ban or investigation. After this period, data is deleted or

anonymized.

13. Acceptance of Terms

By using BYOB Sports, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this Privacy &

Safety Policy, and acknowledge that maintaining safety is a shared responsibility between users

and the platform.

14. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy as we expand features or adapt to new laws. Users will be notified of

significant changes via email or in-app notice.
